Moreton Island

I mentioned to my friend Gail at our Mahjong' group that hubby needed a holiday but I did not think it was going to happen in the near future.   The following week Gail offered me  her time share unit on Moreton Island for a week free of charge. Thank you Gail, there was great excitement in our house for the next two weeks and  finally we were on the ferry heading to Tangalooma  Resort,

The unit we were staying in was surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens.

There are Pandanus palms with their large nuts (on the right-hand side of the photo), Coconut palms, Bromilads and large bird nest ferns.

After taking our bags to our rooms we booked our seats on the Whale watching  and quad bike tours, walked along the beach front and managed to get a photo of a P&O cruiser passing by.

While eating our dinner we were joined by a Kookaburra who tried help himself to leftovers, All the animals on Moreton Island are wild and guests are encouraged not to feed them.

That night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves lapping the shore and a fresh sea breeze keeping us cool.

  1. Looks like a wonderful respite vacation...good for you hugs, Julierose (love that little bird!!)

  2. That sounds like a wonderful vacation. I hope you both come back relaxed and rested.
